How to do NCLEX Registration 2024: Exam Schedule & Dates

Hello! Are you a nursing graduate looking to work abroad? If yes, then do your NCLEX Registration today. The National Council Licensure Examination is a nationwide exam, especially for nursing graduates. It helps in obtaining a nursing license. It also, enables candidates to practice in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

It is a “Computerized Adaptive Test” in format. Where the computer selects the question, on how you answer previous questions. That means the questions are different for every candidate. However, it is administered through the Pearson VUE at the test center. The aspirants are allowed to retake this exam 8 times in a year.

But there must be a gap of 45 days between their attempts. This exam is designed to judge the skills, abilities, and knowledge of the candidate in order to ensure safe public protection. Also, it checks a person’s ability to think critically, about the decisions they make in nursing care.

They are of two types i.e. NCLEX-PN (Practical Nurse) and NCLEX-RN (Registered Nurse).

On April 1, 2023, NCSBN developed a new version, which is known as “Next generation NCLEX”. NCSBN is the governing body that is responsible for making changes in the National Council Licensure Examination.

  • First of all, apply to the NRB (Nursing Regulatory Board), which varies from state to state.
  • Then, submit an application to approve your Authorization to test (ATT). If it is approved then proceed further.
  • Next, register with Pearson VUE.
  • Now, schedule your appointment date and pay your form fee.

Eligibility requirements

It is important to fulfill the eligibility requirements. If you are not eligible you cannot fill out the application form.

  • To apply, the minimum education qualification is – one should be a Nursing graduate.
  • It is in two languages i.e. English and French. So, the candidate must know at least one of them.
  • There are no age limits. However one must be a graduate.

  • One must obtain Authorization to test (ATT). For this applicant one needs to submit an application for licensure through NRB.
  • Next, one must make an appointment within 90 days of their ATT. Otherwise, it will expire.
  • Also, applicants must register with Pearson VUE.

How to Register for NCLEX

  • The first step is to apply for Authorization to Test (ATT). To obtain this applicant needs to visit the official website. Thereafter, apply to the Nursing Regulatory Body (NRB) of the country where the applicant wants to obtain licensure.
  • Next, inquire with the NRB regarding the  NCLEX registration process. As the process and requirements vary from state to state.

  • After that, if your ATT is approved, you will receive a notification about it. Also, it means you are eligible through the licensure board to apply further.
  • Then, the applicant makes sure to test within a period of 90 days on the ATT. Otherwise, no extensions are there.

Note – ATT contains important details such as “Test authorization number”, applicant identification number, and Validity date.

 How to Get Pearson VUE NCLEX Login

Pearson VUE is a virtual university enterprise. It is a training service & is the leading computer-based testing examination company in the world.

Now, here are the steps to log in.

  1. First of all, visit the official website.
  2. Now, Create a web account, so, enter your details such as Name and email address.
  3. After that enter your address, Zip Code, telephone number, and Select language.
  4. In the next step fill in your date of birth, Gender, and enter a password. After that, your account is successfully created.
  5. Now, log in to your account with your email ID and password.

This is the secure way to apply and pay a fee for your examination online. Moreover, you can use VUE to locate the testing locations and choose a date.

Note – After you pay your fee online. Make sure to download your receipt of the application and ATT.

NCLEX Test Dates 2024

So, when an aspirant becomes eligible to attempt this examination. They receive a copy of the NCLEX Applicants Bulletin online.

Test Dates

This contains the necessary details and information for scheduling their test online or via Phone.

Now, if the applicant is sitting in this test for the first time. They offer appointment dates within 30 days of their online request or call. Also, if it is a retake attempt, candidate can expect their appointment to fall within 40-45 days of their request.

Therefore, it is highly important to schedule a date as quickly as possible. So, that one can obtain the best location and a suitable date for them. Moreover, many candidates attempt this exam. So, if the candidate waits too long. It is not possible to make an appointment before their ATT expiration.
